Rick D. Pittman, MD
After completing Residency training at Swedish Hospital Medical Center in Seattle, Washington and Fellowship training in Vascular Surgery at St. Vincent Hospital in Portland, Oregon, Dr. Pittman began his career as a specialist in the treatment of venous disorders.
Dr. Pittman was the first in the Willamette Valley to begin using therapeutic injections (Sclerotherapy) for the treatment of spider and reticular veins and has perfected the minimally invasive treatment with the VNUS® Closure Catheter. To date, Dr. Pittman has performed over 500 procedures.

Mark S. Peterson, MD
Following his Fellowship training, Dr. Peterson served 10 years as both a general/trauma and vascular surgeon in Corvallis, Oregon. Since founding Salem Vascular Consultants with Dr. Pittman in 2000, Dr. Peterson has performed over 500 minimally invasive treatments using the VNUS® Closure Catheter.
As a highly experienced and dedicated surgeon, Dr. Peterson is committed to treating vein disease with current state-of-the-art techniques. His approach is caring and communicative. Dr. Peterson's patients understand and are comfortable with the methods he uses to treat vein disorders.

Patricia Stupfel, ANP
Prior to completing her Master of Science degree in Nursing at the University of Portland in 1997, Patricia served at the Salem Hospital as a registered nurse (RN) in the intensive care unit, emergency room and as a Nurse Educator for 7 years.
Patricia is an Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP) and worked for 8 years in internal medicine/nephrology prior to joining Salem Vascular Consultants in 2005.
Rui Zhu, BSRVT, Lab Director
Following his internship at St. Luke Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho, Rui Zhu graduated from the Oregon Institute of Technology in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Imaging. His emphasis was on Vascular Technology.
Rui is a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) with over 9 years experience in the vascular field.
Patty Beninger, Office Manager
Patty Beninger has served in the medical field in a variety of capacities since 1976. Her experience branches out to hemotology/oncology, pediatrics, emergency medicine and human resources.
She has an Associate of Science degree and certificates in Business and Human Resources from Portland State University. Patty joined Salem Vascular Consultants in 1998 as the Office Manager and speaks fluent Spanish.
